Minister says grants will be under consideration ahead of 2025-26 academic year
The Department of Education, Sport and Culture would need to allocate an additional £213,750 to cover the recent rise in university fees through student grants.
However, Minister Daphne Caine has not committed to increasing the grant element and says the decision will continue to be considered ahead of the 2025/2026 academic year when the changes come into effect.
Last year, the department awarded grants to 958 students, costing £9.2 million.
Around 750 of those students pursued studies off-Island, while the remainder attended University College Isle of Man.
