The longest serving member of Tynwald says the current Howard Quayle administration could learn a lesson from history.

David Cretney says the first ever Chief Minister Sir Miles Walker championed a prosperous and caring society.

Mr Cretney is full of praise for the new members of the House of Keys but says the honeymoon period is over.

He says the Council of Ministers needs to grasp the mantra of Sir Miles Walker - bring employment and wealth to the Island but look after the less well off:-
