Tour of Island over weekend
Support for Team Isle of Man at next year's Commonwealth Games is expected to see a surge, as the Queen's Baton Relay arrives on Manx soil.
The relay team touches down at Ronaldsway this morning (1 Sept) at the start of a packed three day tour around the Island - the baton on its 43rd stop.
They'll be met by Chief Minister Howard Quayle and President of the Isle of Man Commonwealth Games Association, Basil Bielich.
First stop will be Post Office headquarters, before the baton visits local firms which are supporting the Island team's build-up to the games in Australia's Gold Coast.
Over the weekend, promising sports men, women and children will act as baton bearers, transporting the symbolic mace on a zig-zag journey to communities north, south, east and west.
Basil Bielich says the baton carries with it the spirit of the games.
