Possible jail term over death of Island stuntman
A company director has told a court he's 'deeply sorry' for his role in the death of a professional daredevil from the Island.
Matthew Cranch lost his life after a 'human cannonball' stunt went tragically wrong in Detling, Kent.
Now the organiser faces a jail term for breaching health and safety rules.
Twenty-four year old Matthew died from 'catastrophic injuries' sustained when his safety net gave way during a live stunt performance in 2011.
He'd performed the routine just five times before the disaster.
Last week (13 July), the show's organiser Scott May pleaded guilty to health and safety offences relating to risk assessment, staff training and equipment design at Maidstone Magistrates Court.
He'll be sentenced later - Mr May faces up to two years' imprisonment and an unlimited fine.
