DCCL 'interfered' with report, claims MHK

An MHK has accused a government department of interfering with an independent report.

North Douglas member John Houghton made the assertion in the House of Keys today.

He was talking about the report on the trial of bendy buses in the Island which was recently made public.

The study by an independent working group concluded costly changes to Manx roads would be needed before the articulated buses could be used.

Although Leisure Minister Graham Cregeen ruled out the proposals, Mr Houghton claimed there was departmental interference in the report.
