Public encouraged to engage with the issue
The current ‘blanket ban’ on assisted dying is ‘unsafe, unfair and unregulated’.
That’s the view of Dignity in Dying as the second reading of the Assisted Dying Bill is set to travel through the House of Keys later this month.
Supporters - and those who oppose the idea - will be able to have their say at a public meeting being held in Douglas this Thursday evening, 19 October.
Fran Hall is the campaigns and engagement manager for the group in the UK - she believes the weight of public opinion is now behind a change in the law.
Meanwhile, Churches Alive in Mann have held a meeting where almost 100 people gathered for a time of prayer and reflection about assisted dying.
It was attended by those representing local Christian Churches of all denominations.
