DEFA minister admits fisheries support won't reach all in sector

Not all livelihoods can be saved, says Boot

The environment, food and agriculture minister admits some in the fishing industry have 'fallen through the cracks' when it comes to receiving government help.

A coronavirus support scheme for the sector has been extended to the end of August, and is expected to pay out a further £350,000 to boat owners and seafood businesses.

The industry has been hit hard by the global pandemic, with usual markets for Manx shellfish only now reopening, offering much reduced prices.
