An investigation which led to criminal charges against the Island's Attorney General has been described as 'misdirected'.
A jury has also been told the prosecution case against Stephen Harding was carefully thought out, yet self-contradictory at every turn.
Defence counsel David Farrer QC made the points as the defence presented its closing statement at the trial of 52-year-old Stephen Harding from Glen Vine.
He denies charges of perjury and committing acts against public justice.
