DHSC working with UK Home Office
Delays to a cannabis dispensing service are due to an issue with capturing information relating to the movement of products to and from the Isle of Man.
The Department of Health and Social Care has described it as 'unforeseen technical issues’'
In a statement issued to Manx Radio it confirmed: "The UK Home Office is working with the department to ensure a mechanism exists for capturing information relating to the movement of cannabis-based products to and from the Isle of Man.
"This will enable the UK to satisfy its duties and declarations under the UN convention."
Final negotiations should conclude within the next two weeks – all other preparations for the service are now complete; it’s hoped dispensing will start by the end of October.
