Tynwald given figure by health minister
Nearly £10 million will be spent on consultants at Noble's Hospital this year.
The information was given to East Douglas MHK John Joughin in Tynwald this week - after he asked the Health Minister Howard Quayle to outline the expense to the public purse.
Forty-seven consultants will cost the department £210,634 each, including allowances and 'on costs' like National Insurance.
Once filled, seven vacant posts will add approximately £1.5 million to the overall figure.
