Fire broke out at Ayres on Sunday
Government has issued a warning following a gorse fire at Ayres National Nature Reserve this weekend.
The fire broke out at 12:30pm on Sunday (20 August), prompting the immediate response of the police and fire service.
Investigations revealed that the fire was ignited by the improper disposal of a disposable barbecue on-site.
Fires and barbecues were banned at the site earlier this year.
The government is appealing to the public to adhere to the bylaws, saying this incident 'serves as a warning to others'.
