Divers to assess cracked Peel outfall pipe today
A specialist diving team is today (Monday) due to inspect damage to the Peel Bay sewage outfall pipe.
A crack in a chamber hatch was discovered last week, reducing the quality of bathing water and leaving a question mark over beach safety.
The MUA reduced the volume of sewage being pumped out into the bay during daytime - and today, DoI divers will carry out a full assessment of the damage.
Authority chairman Alf Cannan says every effort will be made to repair what he says is a small breach:
Chamber: Positive Moneyval assessment vital for Island's future
Prostate cancer pathway available despite lack of screening
More than 200 residential planning applications granted permission but work yet to commence
Aviation safety audit will be 'completely independent'
