Dog Mills body unlikely to be missing Scottish man

Chief Inspector Bryan Lee issued an update on social media

Previously thought body could be 74-year-old from Wigtown

Police believe the body of a man washed up on a beach in the north of the Isle of Man is unlikely to be that of a missing Scottish man.

DNA tests were carried out earlier this week to determine whether the body discovered on Dog Mills beach last week was 74-year-old Gavin Tait from Wigtown, who has been missing for more than four weeks.

Chief Inspector Bryan Lee gave this update on Galloway Police's Twitter feed:

Police in Cumbria are also understood to be working with the family of a missing person.
