It follows concerns raised by boat owners
A build up of seaweed in Laxey harbour will now be cleared by the Department of Infrastructure.
The change of heart follows a further inspection of the site by DoI officers after concerns expressed by boat owners.
One of them, David Thornley, told Manx Radio he had an unusable boat in an unusable harbour, because of an accumulation of seaweed and detritus adjacent to the boat slipway.
The DoI told Manx Radio the decision to carry out the work will be communicated to the harbour user who filed the initial complaint.
