DoI Minister urges public to share their views on 20mph zones 

Michelle Haywood says it's not fair to label it a 'blanket ban'

The infrastructure minister says her department will consult local authorities in all areas of the Island about implementing 20 mph zones in residential areas. 

Michelle Haywood is also urging members of the public to get involved and share their own views. 

Yesterday, Tynwald approved her department's implementation plan.

Speaking on Manx Radio Breakfast, she says it's not fair to label the scheme a blanket 20mph zone as the limit will only be introduced in residential areas across the Island.

She added that in some areas, where the 20 mph signs are erected, other traffic calming measures may be implemented in the future:
