Follows blaze at Old Marown Engineering Building
The Department of Infrastructure has applied for planning permission to install fencing around a building which caught fire earlier this year.
It's looking to put up 'palisade fencing' on the heritage railway line side of the Union Mills industrial estate to provide 'medium to high level' of security to the site.
It follows a blaze at The Old Marown Engineering Building in January which caused the public footpath to be closed for several hours.
The department will also need to fell 13 trees to make room for the new fencing.
The building is used for storage.
The application is currently pending consideration and can be found here.
