Domestic abuse bill under discussion in Keys

Six questions for oral answer at this week's sitting

The fine details of the Domestic Abuse Bill will be debated in today's House of Keys sitting.

A number of amendments have been tabled with the majority coming from Douglas East MHK Clare Barber.

There are also six questions for oral answer.

A variety of subjects are covered in questions including the cost of repairs and maintenance of the moveable floor at the National Sports Centre and the policy for holding patients cash at Noble's Hospital.

Other topics are the recent Laxey flood and water quality standards, temporary work permit exemptions in hospitality, how many people have a TV licence and the contracts of education support officers.

The House of Keys will meet from 10am with Legislative Council sitting from 10.30am where bills under discussion are the Communications Bill 2018 and Public Sector Pensions (Amendment) Bill 2019.

LegCo's sitting comes one day after the 100th anniversary of the first election of MLCs by members of the House of Keys.
