Warning video shared on social media
The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service has issued a warning for people to take extra care over the festive season.
They have shared a number of tips to social media, from ensuring you have working smoke alarms installed on all levels of your home, to ensuring you switch off fairy lights and unplug them before you go to bed or leave the house.
A video shared by the service shows a living room encased in fire within 46 seconds of a bulb malfunctioning on a Christmas tree.
