Don't spread flu and colds, urges Public Health Director

Advice issued ahead of winter flu season

Anyone with cold or flu symptoms should stay indoors and avoid other people to avoid spreading the illness, even if it's not coronavirus.

That's the advice from the Island's director of public health ahead of the winter flu season.

Only those with a temperature above 37.8°C, a new persistent cough or a loss of taste need to contact 111 for a Covid-19 consultation.

While those with sore throats or runny noses don't need a coronavirus test, Dr Henrietta Ewart says such illnesses can easily be spread:
