'Don't visit pharmacies for lateral flow kits yet' urges Gov't

Stores yet to be stocked

People are being urged not to visit their local pharmacy for lateral flow tests yet.

Last night government announced it was scrapping self-isolation for close contacts of those who test positive for Covid-19.

Free home testing kits were given out at four schools around the Island as the first step in introducing the new protocol.

Government said this would be a temporary measure and from today the lateral flow kits would be available at your local pharmacy.

The list of stockists was to be announced in due course.

As of midday today (15 July) this is still to be released but government says this information will be announced ahead of this afternoon’s press briefing.

In a post on social media it says the stores don't have the stock in yet and it's urging people not to be verbally abusive to pharmacy staff.

It says this is 'completely unacceptable and won't be tolerated'.
