Voters in Murrays ward go to polls
Douglas will have a new councillor by the end of this evening (Thursday).
A by-election in Murrays Ward will see two candidates, Falk Horning and Derek Lavery, vie for the vacant seat.
Polling stations are open from 8am until 8 o’clock at the Masonic Hall in Woodbourne Road, for the Albany polling district; at MacFadyen Hall on Tromode Road for the Garden City district and at St Ninian’s High School for the Somerset district.
Although a third name will be on the ballot papers today – Keith Teare – the Council has confirmed Mr Teare has withdrawn from the election.
