Crew in action early this morning
Douglas lifeboat crewmen were called out early this morning after a person was reported as missing by the Coastguard.
Volunteers were contacted at 3:30am and took the all-weather vessel Sir William Hillary out of the capital's harbour, embarking on a shoreline search north from Douglas towards Groudle.
A report from the RNLI says mist and rain made the search difficult, with the crew using search lights and parachute flares - at 4:50 this morning the Coastguard then informed that the lifeboat could be stood down, and return to harbour.
