Forty-two-year-old pleads guilty to possessing heroin
A woman who hid hundreds of pounds worth of class A drugs in her underwear will be sentenced later this month.
Forty-two-year-old Kelly Elaine Thompson of Demesne Road in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas courthouse.
She pleaded guilty to possessing heroin, cannabis and criminal property on 28 August.
Police stopped her car on the forecourt of a petrol station on Victoria Road in Douglas.
A search uncovered more than £2,730 and at police headquarters officers found more than three and a half grammes of heroin worth up to £800 in her bra and knickers.
Thompson panicked and tried to swallow two small wraps of heroin before police managed to stop her.
The court heard she’d been looking after the cash for a drug dealer she owed money to.
Magistrates granted bail and committed her for sentencing at a Court of General Gaol Delivery, where she’ll appear on 28 October.
