Douglas year nines will stay at home today

Staffing issues affect St Ninian's and Ballakermeen

Some children will be studying from home today, amid an ongoing staffing crisis due to the pandemic.

Year nine students from both St Ninian's and Ballakermeen High Schools have been told not to go in to school.

Ballakermeen's year tens were working virtually yesterday too.

Director of Sixth Form Richard Karran says it's hard to know how effective remote learning is:

Approximately 16 per cent of teaching and support staff are currently absent at Ballakermeen.
