30-year-old off the road for two years
A Douglas man has been banned from the road after being caught driving whilst under the influence of drugs during TT week.
John Paul Glover, of Ash Road, was stopped by police in Glen Mona at 7.25pm on 2 June.
Officers pulled the 30-year-old over due to concerns he was speeding – they carried out a drug wipe test which failed.
He was arrested and taken to Police Headquarters where subsequent blood samples revealed he was over the legal limit.
At Douglas Courthouse Glover admitted drug driving with his advocate telling the court: "He had consumed cocaine the previous evening but nothing that day."
Banning him from the road for two years, and until he’s taken and passed an extended driving test, Magistrates also fined Glover £1,000 and ordered him to pay £125 in prosecution costs.
