Police source facility from local firm
A police drone could be used for the first time at incidents during the Festival of Motorcycling.
The force launched a two-week trial of the device on Friday.
It's hoped its use in incidents such as crashes on the Island's roads could help cut the amount of time routes need to be closed for officers to do investigations.
The drone is being supplied and operated by Island firm ELS in a scheme being run in conjunction with the Department of Home Affairs.
ELS managing director Justin McMullan hopes the technology will prove to be of great benefit for police officers, particularly at busy times such as the Festival of Motorcycling:
