Skelly won't confirm Jacksons concert lost £100,000
The Economic Development Minister says social media misinformation is rife over the running of the Villa Gaiety complex.
Laurence Skelly has responded to allegations of mismanagement by saying no disciplinary procedures are underway.
The promoter of last month’s Sir Tom Jones gig, who is in dispute with the department over payment, made the allegation.
Lee O'Hanlon also claims The Jacksons concert at the Villa Marina nearly two years ago lost £100,000, a bill footed by the Manx taxpayer.
Mr Skelly has neither confirmed nor denied that figure but says it’s his job to look at the bigger picture and the venue is regularly coming in under budget.
Mr Skelly is a candidate in Rushen at next month's general election. The other people contesting the constituency are Leo Cussons, James Hampton, mark Kemp and Juan Watterson.
