The father of a murdered police constable from the Isle of Man will be presented with the Elizabeth Emblem today (9 November).
Fiona Bone, who grew up in Port St Mary, was killed in a gun and grenade ambush alongside her colleague PC Nicola Hughes whilst working for Greater Manchester Police in 2012.
They'd been responding to reports of a burglary in Greater Manchester when they were attacked.
The father of PC Hughes will also be presented with the honour.
It's is the civilian equivalent of the Elizabeth Cross, which recognises members of the UK armed forces who died in action or as a result of a terrorist attack.
Today 38 police officers, firefighters and other public officials have been named as the first recipients of the award for those killed while on duty.
