DOI and rally organisers to meet on Thursday
An emergency motion tabled for this morning's sitting of Tynwald (Tues 17) was withdrawn.
East Douglas MHK Chris Robertshaw, was going to ask that the Department of Infrastructure be instructed to work with organisers of the Manx Rally, after they had refused to sanction road closures on safety grounds, just 8 weeks before the event.
However, it's understood that officials from the department are now meeting with rally organisers this Thursday to discuss the problem.
Rally Isle of Man is due to take place between 13th and 15th September.
