Equal Rights meeting attended by eighty - but only one MHK

Human rights campaigner sets out his view

It's imperative for the Island to introduce the Equality Bill as soon as possible.

That's the view of human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell, who was on the Island to give a talk last night (Wed)

Around 80 people attended the event, entitled 'Equal Rights - A Goal Worth Fighting For', which had been organised by the Isle of Man Freethinkers.

Only one MHK, Peter Karran, was present, albeit that the event clashed with an official event for the Small Countries Financial Management Programme which involved a number of Tynwald members.

This was the view of some of the audience members
