Ronan bemoans new gov't approach
Going 'cap in hand' to treasury for money is not how the Island will meet its climate change ambitions, according to a former environment minister.
Following government's announcement that it will be renewing its climate change mitigation strategy at this month's sitting of Tynwald, Richard Ronan disapproves of the decision to appeal for funding.
The environment and infrastructure departments along with Manx Utilities are behind a proposal to reduce CO2 emissions on the Island, with a 69-question consultation launched online last week.
Mr Ronan told Manx Radio he was surprised that his successor, Geoffrey Boot, said the current strategy 'wasn't ambitious enough.'
