'Excessive' drink-drive limit questioned in Keys

Won't stop serious cases says MHK

Proposed changes to the legal blood alcohol limit must not unfairly impact businesses and 'responsible drivers'.

That's the view of Glenfaba MHK Geoffrey Boot.

In the House of Keys today he will quiz the Home Affairs Minister on the Island's drink-driving statistics

Mr Boot's concerned that changing the limit from 80mg per 100ml of blood, to 50mg, will do nothing to stop many serious cases, which see drivers up to three or four times the legal limit.

He says it risks being a marginal exercise
