Manx Birdlife shares results of latest census

One of the Island's most iconic and much-loved native birds has seen its population decline by 24 percent between 2014 and 2025.

The Red-Billed Chough belongs to the Crow family and is instantly recognisable by its bright red legs and bill.

The decline in numbers is the key finding in the Manx BirdLife Chough Census, carried out between April and June this year. 

Richard Seed is a field worker with the charity and says the reduction in local breeding pairs from 160 to 121 is a worry:
