Family calls for on-Island lung cancer screening

Petition launched calling on government to do more

A Manx family is calling for lung cancer screening to take place on the Isle of Man.

Currently only three types of cancer screening are done here - breast, bowel and cervical.

Paul Smith found out in December last year that he had the disease - eight weeks later he died.

His wife Sharon, daughter Laura and sister Helen spoke to Manx Radio's Chanelle Sukhoo about a petition they've started which is calling for more to be done to detect the 'silent killer':

Manx Radio has contacted the Isle of Man Government for comment.
