Faulty injector forced Steam Railway locomotive out of service

Repairs have now been completed

An injector issue led to some Steam Railway services being cancelled last weekend and earlier this week, but the fault has now been repaired.

The railway had to switch onto a different timetable after one of its locomotives developed the issue.

When making repairs, the Department of Infrastructure says its workshop team has to wait up to two days before starting work to allow the locomotive to cool.

After identifying the issue to be a faulty injector, the part was replaced and the locomotive has now re-entered service.
