40-year-old unleashed ‘barrage of abuse’ at car boot sale
A Douglas man who unleashed a ‘barrage of abuse’ at a family car boot sale has been fined £250.
Paul David Renshaw, of Heather Crescent, became embroiled in a dispute with a burger van owner at Blackberry Lane in Onchan.
At Douglas Courthouse the 40-year-old admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour on 24 July.
The court heard he approached the man, who was known to him, and started swearing telling him: “I’m going to come in there and break every bone in your body”.
He then ‘discharged his nose’ over the food in the kiosk later telling police the dispute was over allegations that’d he sabotaged a cycling event.
Sentencing Renshaw Deputy High Bailiff Graeme Cook told him: “Behaviour like this isn’t tolerated. The discharge of your nasal contents is disgusting.”
Renshaw must also pay £50 in prosecution costs.
