23-year-old 'sucker punched' another man
A Douglas man has been fined £600 after being drunk and disorderly at a nightclub in Douglas.
Andrew Ian Burkitt, of Cronk Drean, was found in the cocktail lounge of 1886 with a bloody nose at 2:30am on 6 April.
The 23-year-old was attended to in the toilets of the bar before leaving the facilities and promptly 'sucker punching' another man with 'no warning'.
An altercation then occurred between the men and door staff, with police then called to the venue.
At Douglas Courthouse, Burkitt's advocate told the court the incident was a 'one off', saying: "He should've gone home, and didn't."
Fining him and ordering him to pay prosecution costs, Deputy High Bailiff Rachael Braidwood told him: “Behaviour like this on licensed premises is absolutely unacceptable."
