43-year-old refused to move when challenged by police
A Douglas man who admitted being drunk in a public place has been fined £100 during an appearance at Douglas Courthouse.
David Samuel Anderson, of Head Road, refused to move from Douglas Beach despite the incoming tide when officers attempted to help him on Sunday evening (5 May).
The 43-year-old's advocate told the court his client 'has fallen off the wagon' despite 'doing his best to try and beat his addiction'.
Fining Anderson, Deputy High Bailiff Rachael Braidwood also ordered him to pay prosecution costs.
