Firm's office becomes donation HQ

An Island business says it's been overwhelmed by public generosity to an appeal for those affected by the west London tower block fire.

A small-scale collection started by director of Ambitions recruitment agency Sharon Kissack yesterday (14 June), has grown rapidly.

Donations of clothes, blankets, toiletries, food and toys have been pouring in to the firm's Douglas office. 

Seventeen people died when the block was engulfed in the blaze, and 30 are still in hospital.

Authorities face a major logistical challenge to help hundreds left homeless and without any possessions.

Donations, pouring in from around the UK, will tide people over.
