Fire appliance crashes on way to emergency call

Internal investigation launched

An investigation has been launched after a fire engine crashed whilst responding to an emergency call.

The appliance was involved in the incident, on the Creg Ny Baa Back Road earlier this afternoon, whilst enroute to a two vehicle crash on the Mountain Road.

Government has told Manx Radio the internal investigation 'remains ongoing' but no firefighters were injured.

The road – between the Mountain Road and the Conrhenny Plantation car park – is due to remain shut until 9pm.

The Mountain Road – from the Bungalow to Lheaney Road – will be closed until 7pm.
