Fire caused by unattended pan on hob

Neighbours raise alarm in Osbourne Grove

An unattended pan on a hob resulted in a callout for Douglas firefighters.

Crews attended the scene at Osbourne Grove yesterday afternoon after a smoke alarm alerted neighbours to the issue.

Officers forced entry to the flat, where they discovered a small fire caused by an overheating pan.

The team remained at the scene for around 40 minutes while the fire was extinguished and smoke cleared.
