An unattended garden fire sparked an emergency call out yesterday afternoon (Sunday).
Firefighters were called out at around a quarter past 12 to a property at Abbeylands in Douglas after reports of smoke coming from trees.
Although quickly extinguished, officers are stressing that anyone setting garden fires should be aware of how quickly they can spread through trees and undergrowth, especially during dry months, and should always fully extinguish the fire before leaving.
