Dishwasher fault the cause
Fire crews were called into action last night to deal with a house fire in Braddan.
The call was made just after 11pm, after occupants of a property on the Cronk Grainagh estate were woken by their smoke alarm.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were quick to identify the cause - a dishwasher that had caught fire thanks to an electrical fault - before they extinguished the blaze.
Crews vented the building and all family members escaped the incident unharmed, along with their pets a dog and two cats.
