A HazMat officer had to be called out

Fire crews had to request a HazMat officer when dealing with an incident in Port St Mary this weekend.

Just after 6pm on Saturday (15 November), a call was made to the Rushen Station following smoke and a chemical smell from the property.

It was confirmed on scene two motorbikes were connected to maintenance chargers, along with several e-bikes and an RC car and controller.

Crews located a burnt-out RC controller, which was identified as the source of the smoke.
