Residents safely evacuated property after alarm sounded
The fire service says a carbon monoxide alarm ensured the residents at a property in Cronk y Voddy were able to safely evacuate during an incident.
Crews were called to the scene shortly after 6pm yesterday following reports of an alarm sounding within the home.
Officers saw thick black smoke issuing from the side of the property, and had to ventilate the property before checking it over with gas monitoring equipment before allowing residents to return.
The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service says it's fortunate that the property had a working carbon monoxide alarm, giving those in the building an early warning.
