Fire Service raises £7,000 for charity

Money goes to fire fighter's charity

The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service raised £7,000 for The Fire Fighter's Charity.

Representative, Alan Knell, visited the Island's retained stations to explain how it can help fire fighters here, and their families.

It helps injured, ill officers, and those in need of psychological support, to come to terms with life and death situations they regularly face.

The money was drummed up by putting on coffee mornings and fundraisers.

A further £375 was raised at the second annual Poker Tournament at the casino.

Mr Knell thanked everyone involved, and the Manx public for their support.
