Dry vegetations and current weather conditions made bringing fires under control difficult
More than 65,000 litres of water and 40 firefighters were needed to tackle four outdoor fires on the Isle of Man in a 24-hour period.
Fire crews were called out twice on Saturday (1 August) evening, once overnight on Saturday into Sunday (2 August) and again on Sunday morning.
The fire service says the dry vegetation and current weather conditions have made these fires difficult to bring under control, and they required significant resources to fully extinguish.
Members of the public are being urged to avoid open fires in the countryside, take litter home and to dispose of cigarettes responsibly to prevent further incidents.
