First public worship gathering in three months

Tributes also paid to countries worldwide affected by the pandemic

The Island has held what organisers believe to be the 'first' public worship service in the British Isles.

It comes after the Isle of Man has gone for more than a month without any new Covid-19 cases, following three months of lockdown.

Nearly 70 Manx residents from different Christian traditions met at Mountain View, just outside Ramsey, to take part.

Prayers were made for the Island and the Manx National Anthem was sung to mark and honour the milestone.

Worshippers also offered their blessings to the 'Adjacent Islands' and other countries represented in the gathering including Kenya, the Phillippines, South Africa, Uganda and Israel.
