Flags half mast for PC Palmer

Manx police pay respects

Police officers in the Island are paying their respects this afternoon to a colleague who lost his life in the Westminster terror attack.

A two minute silence was observed at 2pm as PC Keith Palmer's funeral began in London.

The officer was one of five people to die in the March attack, after being stabbed outside the gates of Westminster.

Forces around the country are paying tribute to the fallen public servant, with thousands of policemen and women lining the streets of the English capital.

The Manx Constabulary flag will fly at half-mast from Police Headquarters in Douglas this afternoon, by way of a tribute from the force.
