Island is in a period of national mourning
Government has confirmed the Isle of Man Food and Drink Festival will go ahead this weekend.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says the decision follows ‘careful consideration’.
Many other events have been postponed, or cancelled, due to the period of national mourning following the death of Her Majesty the Queen – our Lord of Mann.
More than 70 exhibitors will showcase their local food and drink offerings at the event along with cooking demonstrations, talks and interactive displayS - but some activities have been scaled back or modified.
Minister Clare Barber added: “The festival is an important time for many local businesses which have invested time and money to prepare.
“Now, more than ever, we need to support our local businesses and we hope people will come along.
“We have carefully considered and amended this year’s programme to ensure it is appropriate for the current circumstances.”
The festival, which is being held at the Villa Marina, will run between 10am and 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
